Medina is celebrated for containing the mosque of Muhammad, and so ranks as the second holiest city of Islam, after Mecca. It was also the place where Muhammad and his followers left after attacks against them in Mecca, now known as the Hijrah.

About Medina

Medina covers an area of 340.7 sq. miles (883 square Km) and is estimated to have a population of 1.3 million people being a city in the Hejaz region of western Saudi Arabia. It is the second holiest city in Islam, and the burial place of Muhammad.

Souq Azzal

Azzal means carpet…yet..you will rarley find carpet in this souq, instead it is full of old antiques goods like old coins. n this souq you will also find lot of shops that sell Arabian Perfumes or Ood, other shops sell Bashet, that coverall jacket men wear here.
